After seeing some Greek pottery I couldn’t stop thinking of the Mediterranean and wishing I was on vacation. The items on this gift guide help feed my dreams of salty seas and sun drenched white buildings.
- Kosterina Olive Oil: Nothing screams the Mediterranean more than olive oil, preferably fresh pressed but we’ll get what we can. The oil pictured is Kosterina’s Everyday EVOO perfect for cooking and grilling. Pick up their Original EVOO for dipping and drizzling.
- Rattan Shell Bowls: While I typically don’t go for overtly themed decor because I think it can be a little kitschy, these sea shell bowls are a cute catchall for a seaside home. Pop one by the door to catch keys.
- Santorini Glasses: While the name is a little misleading because these are made in Italy, the three dimensional designs in blue remind me of the blue rooftops of their namesake city. Perfect when filled with a cold cocktail.
- Baklava: For when you need something sweet, turn to this delightful treat of honey, nuts, and flaky pastry. Yum!
- Earrings: Called the Mykonos Earrings the organic shape nods to the ocean with the delicate shell post and pearlescent drop.
- Vase: Hand-crafted in Athens this vase is decorated with a circular pattern the maker says “evokes a feeling of wholeness”.
- Sandals: These sandals are handmade in the authentic Greek tradition. Featuring the greek letter H these sandals are iconic and will darken naturally with time.
- Greek Key Pillow: The origins of the greek-key pattern are unclear but the pattern is found in Ancient Greek, Etruscan, and Roman relics and is still iconic today.
- Metaxa Greek Spirit: Greek liquor in a pretty bottle, what more is there to say?
- Serving Plate: From the same company as the vase in this guide, comes this plate. They also have other colors but I stuck to the iconic blue and white for the purposes of this.
- Honey: This honey brings you a taste of Greece without having to hop on a boat or plane.
- Candle: This Santorini candle features notes of figs, red currant, amber and sandalwood. Makes me wish that my fig tree would start producing fruit soon!
- Demi-Tasse Cups: Something I learned while shopping for this guide was that in Greece there is a tradition of coffee making. The coffee is strongly brewed in served in smaller cups like this. Similar to Italian espresso.
