The second installment of my “stock the bar” series, this guide highlights the key pieces to curating an island inspired bar, even if you are in a landlocked location.
- Ice Bucket: This piece, and actually this entire guide was inspired by my own vintage ice bucket and bar tool set that I found at a local shop. My set all features bamboo handles so I set out to find something similar to share with you all. The rattan wrapped handle is the perfect way to add a coastal vibe to your bar without going over the top.
- Citrus Juicer: While this juicer isn’t the best for those trying to save on space, it looks amazing sitting out on a bar or bar cart (my friend has it and can attest to this). It is both aesthetically pleasing and useful for summer drinks that require fresh squeezed juice.
- Wood Cutting Board: You’ll need a cutting board to slice up also those lemons and limes prior to juicing! I always like to mix in a little wood for warmth, this board is small enough to live on the bar and be perfect for your garnish cutting needs.
- Bamboo Bar Tools: The search for these bar tools were also inspired by my own vintage bamboo handled bar tools, I just think they are so fun.
- Cocktail Glasses: Since there is no shortage of rattan and bamboo in this guide, I thought I would stay away from rattan wrapped glasses and go for these seeded glass that strike a balance between rustic and classic.
- Woven Tray: When serving up all cocktails to your friends, a tray will make toting those drinks oh so much easier. This is also a great piece to use to style your liquor bottles if you have a bar big enough to accommodate this sitting out.
- Monkey Cocktail Shaker: My last stock the bar guide included a penguin shaped cocktail shaker so, now to add to the menagerie, I have a monkey shaped shaker for you.
- Bamboo Bar Cart: I love a bar cart, it’s perfect for an apartment bar or as a secondary space to house booze or glassware. This two tiered bamboo cart is generously sized and perfect for bringing the beach vibes inside.
- Monstera Leaf Stir Sticks: If making poured drinks a stir stick can be necessary, dress up your drinks with these monstera leaf topped gold stirrers.
- Recycled Glass Margarita Glasses: Nothing says summer like a margarita, these glasses are extra thick to stand up to everyday use. I also like that the recycled glass and handblown nature gives each a unique look and a slight green tint.
- Oyster and Lemon Dish Towel: A dish towel is necessary for mopping up condensation and spills and keeping your bar prep area clean. I like to rotate out my dish towels with the theme or season to keep things interesting.
