I was out of town this weekend visiting my younger sister at college and like with any travel this meant several meals out and lots of rich food. Now that I’m back at home I am ready to get in back to the rhythm of clean(er) eating, but this also has me thinking more about fitness and staying in shape. I’ve pulled together a couple of my favorite home workout items.
- Cinch Sports Bra: This is my all-time favorite sports bra, I loved the first one I bought so much that I bought it in two more colors. Not only is it supportive for low-impact sports but it is also super flattering. Pair it with a pair of leggings and a zip-up jacket for a sporty on the go look that can take you from the yoga studio to the grocery store.
- Convertible Jump Rope: I’ve actually never tried this one but was super fascinated by the idea of a cordless jump rope that would make it easy to do jump rope indoors which isn’t usually possible (hello small apartment living). This one is convertible so you can swap from the cordless weights to a traditional rope in a cinch.
- Adidas Swift Run Sneaker: Finding cute sneakers has never been easier than in a post-pandemic world were athleisure reigns supreme. I like this pair because they are actually good for running but would look cute running errands as well.
- Foam Roller: I don’t think foam rollers require much explanation other than they are good for both pre and post workout. This marbled one does the job and looks good while doing it.
- Kettle Bell: Kettle bells are great for mixing up your weighted workout, this one is pretty light making it good for high rep exercises. Also it’s affordable and pink.
- Hydroflask: I’ve always been a fan of S’well bottles for their ability to keep water ice cold all day long. But, Hydroflask straw lid widemouth bottles may have made a convert out of me. I love how easy it is to pop up the straw which means I am more likely to hydrate throughout the day.
- Pillow Slides: I feel like these slides have been popping up everywhere and I am super intrigued. A shoe that is easy to slide on and off is a must for going to the yoga studio in my book. I usually opt for my Birkenstocks but I love how easy and comfortable these look.
- Resistance Bands: These come in a set of two one light resistance (12-16 lbs) and one heavy resistance (30-35 lbs). Not only are these colors pretty (and match the foam roller linked earlier) but they are another way to mix up an at home workout.
- Cork Yoga Blocks: I prefer these cork blocks to foam blocks because they offer more support and are made from a sustainable material. They are also easy to grip and I don’t feel like they don’t absorb sweat or get gross like foam blocks sometimes can.
- Bala Bangles: These are a super easy way to add a small and comfortable bit of resistance to any work out. I used to love my mom’s velcro wrist weights from the 90s when I was younger because in my mind it was easy fitness so it’s no wonder I love the much prettier and modern version I’ve found in these.
- Manduka Yoga Mat: Pictured is the Manduka ProLite which I like because it isn’t too thin or too thick, it’s the perfect goldilocks mat. Manduka mats are great because they are meant to last a long time but they can be a bit of an investment. Not sure you are going to like yoga yet? Check out these Gaiam yoga mats for a fraction of the price.
- Yogitoes Yoga Towel: If you are going to be doing any type of hot yoga, a yoga towel is essential to improve your grip. I remember going to my first hot yoga class and feeling like my hands and feet were slipping all over about 15 minutes in and immediately ran to my local target to get a mat towel before my next class. Again you don’t need an expensive one like this but find one that matches the size of your mat.
- Free Weights: Free weights are basic go to for in-home workouts (although there are a ton of body weight work outs out there if you don’t have any) these are cheap and I like the easy-grip texture and cute colors.
